Coronation Street’s Jane Danson ‘in awe’ as she’s reunited with former co-star
Coronation Street star Jane Danson has said she is ‘in awe’ as she was seen being reunited with one of her former castmates.
The actress is best known for playing Leanne Battersby in the ITV soap, having made her debut back in 1997 as the new ‘neighbours from hell’ arrived on the cobbles.
Those who have followed the Weatherfield action for more than 20 years will know that Jane made her arrival as Leanne alongside the character’s father Les, step-mum Janice and step-sister Toyah, with the foursome brought in to shake up the cobbles.
Jane has since spent almost 30 years on the famous Street and has therefore seen many Corrie stars come and go over the years, including Hayley Tamaddon who she found herself reunited with this week.
Taking to Instagram, Jane shared a picture of herself with the actress, who played Andrea Beckett in Corrie, and Dancing on Ice star Daniel Whiston, who Hayley won the ITV skating competition with back in 2010.
The soap star had joined them at a zumba class and was thrilled with the workout afterwards as she shared: “Had such fun tonight with @thedanwhiston at his amazing Zumba class.
“Gorgeous to see @hayleysoraya – I wish I could dance like you. Back to it tomorrow with the brilliant @bekki.elliott and Friday @jchianca_new for his fabulous diva fever ! I’m in awe of you all ! Thank you for getting me motivated.”
Hayley was quick to respond to the post, as she commented: “SO SO nice to see you and catch up.. we need a few more hours together! I’ll see you soon. Thanks for your hugs and mum chat.”
Meanwhile, Dan gushed: “LOVED having you with us Jane! You SMASHED IT!”
Meanwhile, Jane was recently seen hitting the road with some of her castmates by taking part in Corrie’s first-ever live show.
An Audience with Coronation Street has seen stars from the Street share behind-the-scenes stories and cherished soap moments from their lives on the cobbles, with host, This Morning’s ‘Queen of Soaps’, Sharon Marshall.
Jane was seen getting in front of the audience on home turf, just a stone’s throw from Coronation Street’s Trafford Wharf set on September 20.
Taking to Instagram with pictures from the evening, including a snap with Corrie co-star Patti Clare, who is famed for playing Weatherfield’s Mary Taylor, Jane wrote on Instagram: “Such a joy to spent time with my @coronationstreet family and lovely friends at last nights sold out Coronation Street tour live in Salford.
“It was so special to be on home turf. Thanks to all who came to support us. @jackpshepherd88 @sharonjmarshall @patti.clare and our Dev and of course our incredible Mr William Roche- what fun.”
