A Coronation Street legend is heading to Rutherglen this December.
Soap fans are in for a treat as Charlie Lawson – best known for his portrayal of iconic soap opera character Jim McDonald – is set to share stories of his life.
An Audience with Charlie Lawson offers fans the chance to hear about the actor’s time on and off the cobbles. Expect behind-the-scenes stories and revelations, anecdotes from Charlie’s life as a soap star – and beyond – plus touching stories from the popular series. It’s an evening of laughter, nostalgia and stories that you simply won’t hear anywhere else, all delivered with Charlie’s trademark wit and candour.
This is Charlie’s second tour with Aberdeen-based promoters, Breakneck Comedy, and it offers soap fans a fantastic opportunity to learn about Charlie’s time on the beloved soap, and hear about his career before and after Coronation Street.
Charlie is known for his openness and honesty, so audiences can expect to hear his unique and personal take about life on one of the UK’s biggest soaps, fame and life in general.

Lawson is instantly recognisable to millions of soap fans as the actor behind the iconic Corrie character, Jim McDonald. The beloved character first wandered into Weatherfield in 1989 and soon became a firm fixture, playing a pivotal role in some of the award-winning soap’s most memorable and dramatic storylines.
Lawson played Jim McDonald from 1989 until 2018 and was involved in some of the series’ most gripping and memorable storylines. Jim faced divorce, illness, and addiction, spent time in prison, was charged with manslaughter, and was even involved in a prison break.
