Boston Blue Season 1 Episode 7 Spoilers Tease a Swanky Investigation (And the Clothes Are Half the Fun)

Danny in a tux and glasses. Lena is in a glittery green dress.

I’m not sure exactly what’s going on here, but Boston Blue Season 1 Episode 7 will be a lot of fun, visually or otherwise.

Somehow this connects to a dead body they find stuffed in a suitcase, but I’m not entirely sure how.

Boston Blue Season 1 Episode 7 Spoilers Promise a “Role Reversal”

While the episode description is light on details, the trailer video gives a bit more of a hint.

Usually, Lena is slow and methodical, while Danny investigates based on intuition and sometimes breaks rules to close the case, but this time, Danny describes Lena as “a dog with a bone.”

So there you have it. Lena will be the one eager to make a move this time.

Bring it on!

Lena can be feisty when she needs to be — one of my favorite moments so far is her introductory scene on Boston Blue Season 1 Episode 1, when she completely showed up those idiot cops who thought she was stepping over puddles out of timidity.

That’s the kind of energy we need, but what brings Danny and Lena to a swanky gala?

I mean, they look good, but there has to be more to it than that!

Since they found the body in a suitcase, my first thought is some sort of trafficking scheme gone wrong.

There was once an episode of one of the Law & Orders where an immigrant kid is found dead in the cargo hold of a bus, and this setup seems similar.

If that’s the case, it makes sense that Danny and Lena would hit an expensive-looking gala.

They’re probably after some super-rich person who is trafficking people and only cares about using them to line their already deep pockets.

I Wonder Why Lena Is So Invested?

Lena cares about all her cases, but she’s usually more level-headed, so something must be going on that makes her especially passionate about this case.

I doubt it has anything to do with her father’s death — that would be too convenient, and anyway, I doubt his murder had anything to do with a case like this one.

But I expect this case will trigger her in some way, since she’s more determined and less rule-bound than usual.

It’s possible that Danny’s just rubbing off on her, but there’s not much of a story there, so let’s hope there’s something more interesting planned.

Blue Bloods Season 1 Episode 7 Teases a Big Story for Jonah and Sean

I’m trying not to panic here.

Jonah and Sean’s stories are usually ridiculous, and they’re often my least favorite part of the show.

This time, they’re supposed to be part of a big case — not that they haven’t stumbled upon one before.

Spoiler photos have them making an arrest, so maybe they’ll actually get a serious story for once.

That’s a big ask, considering the nonsense we’ve gotten from these two in the last six episodes, but anything’s possible, I guess.

I wonder if it’ll be related to Danny’s case again. I hope not, because I want Sean to stand on his own, and Danny lecturing him about how to do his job is already getting old.

Whatever’s going on with these two, we’ll at least have some action scenes.

I’m not a big fan of chase scenes, especially when shows overuse them or mean to take the place of real drama. (Yes, FBI, I’m talking to you!)

But if Sean has to deal with his first traumatic arrest, or at least one that’s less straightforward than just stopping and cuffing someone, that could make for good drama if done properly.

Boston Blue Season 1 Episode 7 Appears to Be Missing a Story

Boston Blue Season 1 Episode 6 ended on one of the strongest cliffhangers imaginable, so it would be disappointing if Mae’s storyline isn’t addressed at all this week.

Mae’s decision to expose corruption in the DA’s office means that they might have to throw out all the cases that the ADA tried — including the conviction of Ben’s killer.

This is the type of story I’ve been waiting for since Boston Blue Season 1 began.

Blue Bloods used to have these types of ethical dilemmas all the time, but this aspect of the series hadn’t carried over, at least not so far.

Mae’s story changes that.

It would also be disappointing for the series not to immediately follow up on that cliffhanger, especially since the midseason finale is coming up in just a few weeks.
