NEW UPDATE! šš£ Blue Bloods Reunion? Tom Selleck Says Heās Ready to Return as Frank Reagan

Blue BloodsĀ fans are rejoicing amid news that the franchise is expanding with the new CBS showĀ Boston BlueĀ starringĀ Donnie Wahlberg, and sources sayĀ Tom SelleckĀ is āopenā to making an appearance.
āTomās been pretty vocal when it comes to his feelings about the network endingĀ Blue Bloods,ā an insider exclusively tellsĀ Closer. āHe did not want to say goodbye to that role, so naturally heās very open to coming back and doing cameos on Donnieās show.ā

In addition to starring in the new show, Donnie, 55, will also serve as an executive producer ofĀ Boston Blue, a Boston-based offshoot ofĀ Blue Bloods. He will be once again portraying the character Danny Reagan, who will embark on a new journey as he takes a position with Boston PD.
While CBS announced that the newĀ Boston-based showĀ would premiere during the 2025-2026 season, they did not announce who else will be starring in the series. One thing thatās for certain is that Tom, 80, and Donnieās bond has continued despiteĀ Blue BloodsĀ ending after 14 seasons in December 2024.
āThey are still very close, over the nearly 15 years they worked together they developed such a fantastic relationship,ā the insider reveals. āTheyāre genuine friends, in a lot of ways they grew to be like family, thatās how bonded they were.ā
āThey both got emotional filming their last dinner scene onĀ Blue BloodsĀ because it was the last, but now that this series is happening, they may get to do another,ā the source adds. āItās set in Boston so it wonāt be a regular family dinner thing like on the last show but thereās the potential and Tom would be all for doing it.ā

āI think when we finished filming is what Iāll remember most,ā Donnie recalled in a December 2024 interview withĀ Entertainment Weekly. āWe all just kind of sat there for a long time, and I think everyone was hesitating to say something to say goodbye because A, nobody wanted to, and B, everyone knew once somebody starts talking, itās a wrap. The tissues are coming out and everyoneās going to start crying, and sure enough they did.ā
āI remember Tom read a poem ā or, he didnāt read it. Heād memorized the poem and recited it,ā the New Kids on the Block singer continued. āHeās known the poem for years, and he did that from time to time. He would say a poem or he would quote some old famous saying or something. He would always just drop these sage little things upon us at dinner from time to time.ā
Donnie said that after hearing Tomās poem, he āstarted crying and didnāt stop for a few hours.ā The tender moment transported him back to his childhood when he would watch Tom on TV.
āOf course, I felt all the emotion of the crew and the rest of the cast members, but that moment I thought about how when Iād be watching him on TV, my mom would be sitting right behind me, right with my grandma, and theyāre both gone now,ā Donnie said. āAnd how profound it was that somehow my lifeās journey had taken me to this moment, and I just couldnāt help but feel incredibly blessed and incredibly grateful in that moment. And then it was my time to talk next, and that was really messy. I could barely get a word out.ā
