ITV Coronation Street Lucy Fallon shares admission as she rumbles soap future
The soap star returned to our screens last week
Lucy Fallon has shared she doesn’t want to leave Coronation Street anytime soon. The 29-year-old actress joined the soap as Bethany Platt in 2015 and departed Wetherfield in 2020 to pursue other projects, including reality series Don’t Rock The Boat and drama Tom Jones. She returned in 2023 and now sees no reason to go elsewhere because she feels comfortable on the ITV soap.

Bethany recently returned to the soap after she bid farewell to Weatherfield at the start of this year. The actress gave birth to her second child, Nancy, and has now reappeared on the cobbles.
Bethany Platt bid farewell to the cobbles in a dramatic exit storyline following a whirlwind relationship with Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard). Bethany accepted a position at her dream job working for a magazine in London.
Her departure went hand-in-hand with her relationship troubles, as Daniel struggled to decide if he wanted to be with Bethany or Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan), who also left Weatherfield earlier this year.
Bethany wanted a fresh start, and moving to London was the only option to get away from Daniel. But the actress has now made her return to the soap. In Friday’s episode (October 3), she made her comeback, where Bethany found herself being interrogated by the police for allegedly stealing a car.
While dealing with the issue with PC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), who is dating her mum Sarah (Tina O’Brien), Bethany revealed she had resigned from her job in London and borrowed the car from her boss without their consent.
Kit managed to clear Bethany’s name, much to her delight. Later, Bethany reunited with her mum Sarah who was thrilled to hear Bethany was back in Weatherfield for good.
Away from the screen, the soap star is in a happy relationship with footballer Ryan Ledson. They welcomed their first child into the world in 2023 when Lucy gave birth to baby boy, Sonny. Lucy gave birth to their second child, a daughter named Nancy, in January.

Lucy has shared she has no plans to leave Coronation Street in their near future as she feels “comfortable” there. In an interview with Fabulous magazine, she said: “I don’t plan on leaving Corrie to do other things.
“In the past, I wanted to try maybe a drama – and I did that in the time that I was away – but [elsewhere] you don’t get the friendships. I’ve gone back and it’s so familiar. I feel so comfortable, it’s consistent, I get to drive from home to work and then go back home to my children.”
However, the 29-year-old “would love” to take a short break to take part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!. She said: “Obviously, Strictly is more complicated because it’s BBC, but I would love to do the jungle. I’m happy to stay at Corrie and do these other things like that, just as life experiences.”
Lucy also discussed some of the storylines she would like to see Bethany involved in. She shared she would love to tackle the topic of weight-loss medication.
She said: “Weight-loss jabs would be a really good one, because I know so many people who don’t need to be taking weight-loss jabs that are, and it’s something that [Bethany] would 100% do. It’s scary. It [feels like we’re] going back to the Kate Moss vibes.”

But for now, the actress has been happy to have her character in the background and she hasn’t filmed for more than two consecutive days at a time since returning from maternity leave.
She said: “It’s quite a nice break. I’ve found it harder – much harder – this time around with two. “Yesterday and the day before, I was in The Rovers, I didn’t really have anything to say. I was just watching it all unfold. Obviously, if I was given a story line, great! But, equally, if I’m having a nice time with the Platts, that’s perfect.”
