HOT NEWS!! After the slurry leak at Butlers Farm, the lake was drained, leading to the discovery of Nate’s body at last.
The following article contains spoilers from an episode of Emmerdale that hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX.
Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) is growing concerned about Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) in Emmerdale, who hasn’t contacted her since leaving the village.
Last week, Caleb Milligan (William Ash) helped John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) go on the run. His plan began after learning that John had an email prepared to send to the police, detailing what really happened to Anthony Fox.
Fearing for Ruby Miligan’s (Beth Cordingly) future, Caleb knew he had to do something. The problem was though, Cain didn’t agree with the idea of letting John go. As far as he was concerned, John needed to face some sort of consequence for killing Nate.
But with loved ones at risk, Caleb betrayed his brother and helped John. After knocking Cain out with a shovel, Caleb locked his sibling in the boot of his car.

It allowed him to drive his truck to the border, with John hiding in the back. They were very nearly caught by officers but ultimately, Caleb got away with smuggling John into another country.
Just before he left, John deleted the scheduled email and told Caleb the location of Anthony’s body.
In the aftermath, Caleb was – unsurprisingly – met with some very angry relatives when he updated them about John. Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) panicked over the thought of John returning for him, but Caleb felt certain that John would stick to their deal and stay away.
Amid how disappointed he was by his brother’s betrayal, Cain couldn’t cope with letting his son’s killer walk free. He learnt from Caleb that John had plans to go to France, and decided to pack a bag and make his way there.
‘I don’t care how long it takes, I’m going to find him’, Cain announced as he left the pub.

Moira pleaded with her husband to not leave, but the latest episode of the ITV soap allowed us to learn her comments didn’t have any impact.
While on the phone to Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), Moira told her that she’s left Cain plenty of messages, but he doesn’t appear to be interested in answering them.
‘Just hope he’s okay and not locked in some French prison’, she feared.
The lack of contact from Cain means anything could’ve happened to him. Is he trapped in a prison as Moira said?
If he has managed to find John, has the crazed medic made Cain his latest victim?
John’s true nature was exposed last month, following a showdown that put him and Aaron in hospital.
After jumping from the gorge, the injuries John sustained meant he recovered fairly quickly. For Aaron, he was placed in a coma as a result of going into cardiac arrest and suffering head trauma.
While Aaron was under, John did his best to convince everyone that Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) pushed them. It worked for a little while but as soon as Aaron woke up, everything changed.

Aaron immediately confirmed that John was holding Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) hostage, and that he had murdered Nate last year.He also revealed that John had been responsible for many ordeals that had taken place in the village over the past year. The character lives with a hero complex, which is a psychological pattern where he feels a constant need to rescue others.

John disposed of Nate’s body in 2024. His corpse was spotted by Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) in February, when she fell through a frozen lake after the limo crash.
Due to the fact Amy died, she wasn’t able to tell anyone about what she had seen.
