Yet there’s one Channel 5 production that’s returning to the streaming service after a three-year absence, featuring Sheridan Smith as an educator accused of inappropriate relations with a student. The Teacher centres on instructor Jenna Garvey, who faces allegations of sexual misconduct with her 15 year old pupil Kyle following an alcohol-fuelled evening.
BAFTA award-winner Sheridan takes the lead role, with Coldwater’s Samuel Bottomley portraying student Kyle. The supporting ensemble also includes Emmerdale favourite Kelvin Fletcher, as well as The Bill’s Cecilia Noble, My Mad Fat Diary’s Sharon Rooney and Waterloo Road’s Tillie Amartey.
