In tonight’s Emmerdale, a new chapter of drama opens for Robert Sugden as he’s reunited with bad boy Kev, a face from his past. Robert’s villainous brother John may be gone for now, but life for Robert certainly won’t be quiet.
Elsewhere in the village, Dylan Penders is shocked and disapproving as April Windsor gets deeper into the drug dealing world. Can he step in before things get any further out of hand?

1. Kev turns up out of the blue
Former EastEnders star Chris Coghill makes his first appearance as Kev, who turns up in the village looking for Robert. After asking for directions and crossing paths with a suspicious Nicola, he heads to see Robert at Victoria’s place.
Robert’s clearly nervous to see Kev and it’s revealed that he’s been avoiding his calls for a while now. There’s plenty for Robert to tell Kev – and when he alludes to his recent ordeal with John, the newcomer hints at just how far he’d go to protect Robert.
2. Kev’s identity is revealed
As recently tipped in the tabloids, Kev’s true identity is revealed when viewers discover that he married Robert when they were in prison together. Now out on day release, Kev’s looking forward to picking up where they left off – and even wants an introduction to Victoria.
The situation is highly awkward for Robert, who’s already been looking forward to reuniting with Aaron. So where does that leave Kev?
3. Kev drops a bombshell
Just when it seems that Robert is searching for a way to let Kev down gently, the village newcomer announces that he’s dying and only has months left to live!
With Robert totally shocked by Kev’s tragic news, how will this affect his decisions on what to do next?
4. April struggles to keep her secrets
April comes under pressure when her stepmum Rhona realises that she’s not in school. She continues to make excuses for her absence, but is really focused on carrying out Ray’s next drug deal.
Later, Dylan is shocked as he follows April and finds her dealing on a university campus. Can he step in to stop her?
5. Laurel questions Gabby’s commitment
As Gabby looks forward to solidifying her family set-up when Vinny adopts Thomas, she’s hurt as Laurel expresses scepticism.
