Viewers know that Todd has been involved in an ongoing storyline with his boyfriend Theo, who has been subjecting him to domestic abuse.

In last week’s episodes, Todd and Theo went on a night out where they ran into Theo’s ex-boyfriend Owen, who recounted all the times Theo tried to control and gaslight him. After Theo attempted to blame Owen for controlling him, he accused Todd of flirting with James Bailey and stormed off.

In tonight’s episode, an upset Todd confided in George Shuttleworth, telling him that Theo still hadn’t been in touch. George told Todd he was better off without him.

As Theo passed Victoria Garden, he spotted Asha slumped on the bench with an empty wine bottle next to her, so he called out to Amy Barlow for help and they called an ambulance.

After coming across an exhausted Theo, Todd railed at him for his disappearing act and Theo stormed off again, barging past Todd in the process.

Later, an upset Amy poured her heart out to Todd, telling him that if Theo hadn’t found Asha, things could have turned out very differently. “If he hadn’t found her when he did, who knows where we’d be,” she said.

When Todd told Theo how he heard he came to Asha’s rescue, Theo made out that the situation had left him feeling shaken, saying: “Still feel pretty shaken up, if I’m honest.”

Todd suggested that the pair go home to talk, but as soon as they got back, Theo said he wasn’t in the mood for talking after finding Asha.

Theo later told Todd that he had booked himself an appointment with a therapist, saying: “I made a few calls, I’m seeing a therapist in town tomorrow.”

After telling Todd he wants to make things work, Theo said: “I want you to know it’s alright and that I love you and I forgive you.”

Unaware that he was being manipulated again, a grateful Todd hugged Theo and accepted his forgiveness.
