In the forthcoming episodes, David finds himself in handcuffs, arrested by Kit Green for assaulting a police officer.

The arrest unfolds when Kit accuses him of stirring up trouble with his sister Sarah Platt, who is currently dating Kit, leading to David pushing past him and subsequently being arrested by Kit.

Later on, when David fails to turn up to accompany her to her scan, an irate Shona has no choice but to ask Sarah for a lift.

Meanwhile, at the police station, David implores Kit to release him, unable to bear the thought of letting Shona down, reports the Daily Star.

After reconsidering, Kit agrees and drives David to the hospital.

Eventually, David joins Shona and as they watch their baby on the monitor, the sonographer’s expression darkens as they point out a mass on the baby’s neck.

Later in the week, in a gut-wrenching episode, the first half hour follows both Shona and David’s journey as they prepare to visit the consultant to learn more about the mass discovered on their unborn baby’s neck.

Viewers will initially see the morning from Shona’s perspective as an emotional Shona questions how David can appear so nonchalant when their baby’s life could be in danger.

This leads to Shona demanding David leave the car, insisting she doesn’t want him at the hospital.

Soap fans are then shown the same timeline but from David’s perspective as he focuses on preparing himself and his resolve to stay strong for Shona, despite crumbling inside.

The episode then transitions to the present time, where a consultant confirms the presence of a tumour on the baby’s neck.

The consultant explains that if they decide to continue with the pregnancy, Shona will have to undergo complex surgery.
