Coronation Street’s Dee-Dee Bailey star Channique Sterling-Brown has quit the ITV soap after three years
Coronation Street’s Dee-Dee Bailey, played by Channique Sterling-Brown, could be heading for a tear-jerking exit storyline, following the announcement that the actress has decided to leave the popular ITV soap.

Channique’s character made her first appearance on the cobbles back in 2022 and quickly became a beloved figure. During her time on the show, lawyer Dee-Dee has been at the centre of several major storylines.
From her tumultuous relationship with Joel Deering (played by Calum Lill) to nearly losing her life during childbirth earlier this year, Dee-Dee’s journey on Coronation Street has been anything but dull.
However, this week, Channique revealed that she has decided to bid farewell to the soap after three years, leaving many fans devastated, reports the Daily Star.
On her Instagram account, Channique shared a series of photos from her time as Dee-Dee and wrote: “After three whirlwind years of Dee-Dee Bailey, I’ve decided to say farewell to the cobbles.

She continued: “Bittersweet to be saying goodbye, but I am so excited for pastures new and enjoying the end of playing Princess Diana and her many expressions. “Now, fans are speculating about Dee-Dee’s exit storyline and it doesn’t look promising.
On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one viewer wrote: “Sad about Dee-Dee leaving! Always liked her, do we think she’ll get a happy ending?”

Another viewer concurred: “Probably not.” A third fan speculated a shocking demise for the character: “Wouldn’t surprise me if they kill her off. ” Echoing their sentiments, a fourth wrote: “Yeah same,” accompanied by a crying face emoji.
Channique has become the latest cast member to say goodbye to the show, following a series of departures over the past year. Charlotte Jordan (Daisy Midgeley), Colson Smith (Craig Tinker), Sue Cleaver (Eileen Grimshaw) and Shelley King (Yasmeen Nazir) have all left the soap.

In addition, Daniel Brocklebank, who has played Billy Mayhew for the last 11 years, is also due to leave the soap later this year.
This week, character Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) departed the cobbles nearly 40 years after her first appearance. The former Rovers landlady decided to relocate to Spain to begin a new chapter.
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
