The filming of this one-off special, a celebration of the nation’s two most beloved soaps, has kicked off. It will see Weatherfield locals teaming up with their Yorkshire counterparts in an hour-long drama-filled episode.
Corriedale is set to air on ITV, STV, ITVX and Youtube in early 2026, marking the beginning of the new soap power hour schedule, with each programme airing 30-minute episodes every weekday.
Emmerdale will broadcast in a fresh 8pm slot, followed by Coronation Street at 8.30pm.
Both soaps are celebrating this milestone in grand fashion, with the combined production teams embarking on an ambitious stunt that will have lasting implications for all those involved, reports the Daily Star.

Filming for this eagerly awaited production began in late September, but details about the stunt and the characters involved are being kept hush-hush for now.
Iain Macleod, ITV Executive Producer for Continuing Drama, expressed his excitement: “It’s beyond exciting that filming is under way on Corriedale.”
He added: “There is a massive buzz around both the Leeds and Manchester sites and the images coming out of the shoot are utterly spectacular.

“And that’s before we’ve even got to all the brilliant transpennine interactions between characters from the different shows.
“As a soap fan myself, I think my head is going to explode when the episode airs next year. It will be mind-blowing, historical and unmissable.”
Programme chiefs have already started dropping hints about the crossover by including subtle clues in recent episodes.
During last week’s instalment, sharp-eyed viewers noticed a wanted notice featuring an infamous Emmerdale villain displayed in the Weatherfield police station.
Whilst Corrie’s Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) was filing a report with officers, a poster could be seen in the background showing serial killer John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) alongside a public appeal for information.
