In next week’s scenes, Carla admits that she’s having second thoughts about her trip to Ireland for the fear of leaving Lisa alone with Becky. Lisa initially takes offence, questioning if Carla trusts her.
She does, however, attempt to reassure her partner that she has only eyes for her, with Becky very much being a thing of the past in terms of romance. Will Carla listen to her girlfriend and go on her trip with some peace of mind.

“At least Carla is honest! She’s been upfront for some time about her anxiety over Becky’s shock return to Lisa’s life,” our Corrie source explains.
“While it’s natural that Carla may not trust Becky, it’s important for Lisa that her other half has faith in her. Can they sort things out before Carla leaves for Ireland?”
Carla has good reason to be worried about Becky’s arrival as the new character subtly tries to work her way back into Lisa and Betsy’s lives, with Amy Cudden sharing that Becky is desperate to reunite with her family.
“Becky’s sense of humour is one of her tactics,” said the actor. “She’s a very slippery character. If you were trying to give her an archetype, she’s a shapeshifter. She plays the room that she’s in.

“She knows that she can make Lisa laugh, and she knows that she can make Betsy laugh. If she’s looking to become closer to them, one of the easiest ways is to make them laugh and to soften them that way.
“Betsy is her daughter as much as she is Lisa’s, so that dynamic would always be something they’d have to work out. Bearing in mind how much Becky depends on [those] relationships, it’s not going to be smooth sailing.”
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
