Though daytime’s newest drama didn’t disclose who the Emmy winner would be playing or exactly when he’ll start appearing on air (other than “this season”), it’s a safe bet that his character will stir the pot in a big way, whether he catches newlywed Dani’s eye or prompts Nicole to play the field rather than just date Carlton.

Before becoming a soap star, Vaughan had already amassed a slew of primetime credits on series ranging from Beverly Hills 90210 to Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He made his daytime debut in 2002 when he was tapped to replace Another World alum Diego Serrano as Diego Guittierez on The Young and the Restless. (Remember his dalliances with sisters-in-law Sharon and Victoria Newman?)

The same year that Vaughan exited that soap, he was picked up by General Hospital to replace Bold & Beautiful vet Jacob Young as a replacement for Jonathan Jackson as Luke and Laura’s son Lucky Spencer. In 2012, Vaughan started a long run as Eric Brady, Jensen Ackles’ old role on Days of Our Lives.
