Paula Lane portrayed Kylie Platt on the ITV soap before the character met her demise in 2016. Paula subsequently returned to soap opera territory in 2024, taking on the role of Ella Forster on Emmerdale.

And on Emmerdale, it wasn’t long before Paula’s character Ella found herself embroiled in some serious drama, particularly when her relationship with Dr Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) came to an end.

Her troubled history was also exposed, with revelations that Ella had previously served time behind bars following the murder of a childhood companion during their younger years.

Nevertheless, Ella ultimately departed the Dales this year following her arrest after taking Liam captive, desperate to demonstrate that she hadn’t drugged Chas (Lucy Pargeter) – though audiences will remember that John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) was actually responsible, reports the Daily Star.
