Coronation Street fans work out Becky Swain ‘lie’ amid ‘plot holes’ demand

Coronation Street fans think Becky Swain has been telling a ‘lie’ about where she’s been all these years as they made a demand for certain ‘plot holes’ to be addressed.

Those who follow the ITV soap have a lot of questions about the new character, who was believed to be the late wife of Lisa Swain who made her shock arrival in Weatherfield last month.

Lisa was led to believe that Becky had died in the line of duty and she and her daughter, Betsy, were left to grieve for four years until her sudden arrival on Betsy’s 18th birthday.

Lisa’s jaw dropped when she found Becky standing in front of her in the living room of her new home, No. 6 Coronation Street, before Lisa’s new fiancee, Carla Connor, arrived home to the emotional scene.

Since then, Lisa has been battling her feelings for Becky, while trying to reassure Carla that she’s the woman she loves. But with the Underworld factory boss in Ireland for a family funeral, Becky has been trying to worm her way back into Lisa’s affections.

Last week, Corrie fans saw Becky’s first interaction with DI Costello since her return, with him spelling out to her that she needs to disappear back to Spain again or it will be worse for Betsy, who had just being released from the cells following a wrongful arrest.

Revealing his plan, the detective told Becky: “You need to disappear again, soon. If not DS Swain will have a lot more to worry about than her daughter sitting in a cell for a couple of hours.”

When she refused, Becky told Costello that if he didn’t assist in her plan, she would report him, telling him he must help her persuade Lisa and Betsy to go to Spain with her, with it clear she had no regard for Carla.

Later, she floated the idea of leaving to her daughter, with Becky pointing out to Betsy that she could have a life of lounging around on the beach to which Betsy eventually said: “I think…I want to come with you.”

Thrilled with the teen’s response, Becky replied: “Yeah? You’ve no idea how happy that makes me. We can work on mum together, and if we put our minds to it, maybe we can steal her away too?”

With Becky’s plans now clear, some Corrie fans think her recent stay in Spain is just a cover, and that they need a number of questions answering about where she’s been, and why she had to leave in the first place.
