Celia’s wicked move prevents April being saved in Emmerdale

The reveal that Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths) is involved in the drug dealing storyline left Emmerdale fans absolutely stunned.
The character was introduced to us earlier this year. Her first storyline saw her clash with Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt), who had been attacked by a dog from Celia’s farmland.
She was also involved in a plot with Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), who had paid Celia to try and get Moira to sell Butlers.
Celia had a change of heart though and told Moira everything. They then agreed to form a partnership, certain they were capable of stopping the Tates with their plan.
It was on Thursday that saw us discover Celia’s true nature. After finding April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) at the hospital, Celia took her outside and encouraged her to open up.

Believing Celia was a complete stranger, April told her everything – she had been dealing drugs, her little brother had consumed some of them and was now in hospital, and she doesn’t know what to do.
April believed that telling the police everything would be best, and it was at this point Celia’s mask slipped. She slapped April across the face and confirmed that she is the boss Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) keeps mentioning.
‘She’s not involved – she’s the boss’, star Jaye Griffiths said.
‘There’s no one else, it’s her domain. She has overseers who do the actual work and she just runs everything. When I was told that there would be a woman of colour being the ultimate drug queen – fab.
‘Everyone assumes it’s Ray. Good-looking white bloke, everyone assumes he’s the boss, but actually he is a child compared to Celia.

‘She does not like or accept failure. Mistakes are something she has very little patience or tolerance for.’
In Friday’s episode, April had to attend a meeting with a social worker following Leo’s incident.
After a chat with Ray over what to say, April claimed to the social worker that she acts out because her parents put pressure on her all of the time. Overhearing this was Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry), who was furious.
She unleashed her anger at April, and her rant ended with her announcing that she now hates her stepdaughter.
April wondered if it would be best if she moved out and gave her family some space. Rhona said yes, while Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) feared that she wouldn’t ever return.
If April leaves the house, it will allow her to deal drugs without her family getting suspicious. In upcoming episodes, Rhona and Marlon ponder over what to do about their daughter – and Celia cannot help but get involved.
Marlon is unsure whether to allow April to move out, while she seems resolute on saying with her friend to keep Rhona happy. A while later, April finds Ray and confirms that she’ll take up his offer of a room.
She packs some things and heads to the bus stop, but is found by Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw). Bob insists that April moves into the B&B and she agrees, relieved that she’s not accepting Ray’s offer.

As Rhona and Marlon wonder if they’ve been too harsh with April, Ray grows annoyed when he learns of the development.
Once again, Celia is forced to step in. When she walks in on Rhona and Moira discussing April, Celia bolsters Rhona’s belief that she has done the right thing.
It makes the distance between April and her family bigger, and allows Celia’s drug ring to continue without the risk of a youngster spilling the beans.
‘There is many a merry-go-round to navigate’, Jaye said.
‘Oh my goodness [laughs], there’s so much more to come. It’s so delicious! I know I shouldn’t enjoy it this much, but I’m afraid I do. I’m just going to say there’s a stunts coordinator, that’s all I’m going to say.’
