The 42-year-old performer is returning to her role as Eva Price on the ITV soap and is currently shooting scenes, although she has yet to make her on-screen debut.
Eva initially joined in 2011 and was last seen on the Cobbles in 2018, but she’s making her way back to Weatherfield as the fresh landlady of The Rovers Return, and she won’t be arriving solo.
The pub owner is accompanied by her boyfriend, Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker), along with his mum, Maggie (Pauline McLynn).
Prior to her dramatic return, Catherine has posted a behind-the-scenes photograph with James Cartwright, who portrays Theo Silverton, reports the Daily Star.

The duo can be seen standing on the pub set whilst in costume as Eva and Theo, though it isn’t the first occasion the soap actors have encountered one another.
Catherine has disclosed her enduring friendship with James, which started when they first met during their teenage years.
Accompanying the charming image, Catherine revealed: “This one! We first met at theatre school age 13! Now we’re both in Weatherfield!”.

“Lovely to be reunited with my old Pal James. A wonderful man and a stellar actor! Ooooooh Theo- you nasty pasty! ! ! .”
Corrie enthusiasts were quick to respond to the photograph, with one viewer commenting: “Fantastic actor, he has me and my daughter screaming at our TV, hahaha. Oi, Theo, leave our Todd alone, lol.
“Nasty villain award, well deserved, for James, next time round. Can’t wait until you hit our screens again, Catherine, hope it’s not too long now, beautiful lady.”
A second said: “Big fan of his dad. Great playwright. This chap seems like a jolly fellow. From The Archers to The Rovers. Good luck to him.”
A third chimed in: “Lovely Photo love them both xxxxxxxxx”, while another added: “Can’t wait for you to come back, miss you.”
Catherine’s precise comeback date remains unconfirmed by Corrie chiefs.
Nevertheless, it seems she will encounter Theo, who has been inflicting appalling domestic violence upon Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce).
