Coronation Street is set to give fans an update about the fate of the iconic Rovers Return as its new owners make their way to the cobbles.
Corrie viewers know the beloved pub has changed hands a few times in recent years. Now owner Carla Connor seems to have found a more permanent solution following Jenny Bradley’s departure and Glenda Shuttleworth’s temporary stint at the Rovers’ helm.
In scenes airing next week, Carla opens up to fiancée Lisa Swain about the future of the Rovers.
Carla reveals she has sold the pub and reveals the name of the new owner. While the mystery man is yet to make an appearance on the cobbles, Carla confirms that his name is Ben.
The Underworld boss doesn’t divulge any more information, but is the Rovers in for a quiet tenure under the new owner?

It looks like Ben won’t be running the pub alone. In February, it was announced that Catherine Tyldesley would return as Eva Price, with her storyline being closely intertwined with the Rovers.
Eva is set to make a dramatic comeback to Weatherfield with partner Ben Driscoll and “interfering” mother-in-law Maggie in tow. The two new characters will be portrayed by Aaron McCusker and former EastEnders star Pauline McLynn respectively.
The trio will be joined by Ben’s two sons and Eva’s daughter, Suzie, though the stars playing them haven’t been confirmed just yet.
Now that Ben’s arrival is being discussed on screen, it won’t be long before the new gang make their big entrance, with fans warned to expect “explosive secrets” to come to light.

“We are beyond thrilled that Eva is returning as the landlady of the Rovers, with her new blended family in tow,” said Corrie producer Kate Brooks. “The Driscolls do not arrive quietly, so expect big drama, explosive secrets and raucous knees ups galore.
“To have actors of Catherine, Aaron and Pauline’s considerable calibre at the beating heart of this family is absolutely wonderful, and we can’t wait for you to get to know and fall in love with them as much as we have already done. Strap yourselves in, it’s going to be an exciting and eventful ride.”
