Coronation Street Stars Sally Carman and Joe Duttine Melt Hearts with Rare Family Photo
A Sweet Glimpse Beyond the Cobbles
Coronation Street favourites Sally Carman and Joe Duttine have warmed fans’ hearts with a rare family update on social media. The real-life couple, best known for playing Abi Webster and Tim Metcalfe, delighted followers when they shared an adorable photo of their beloved dog, Fig — a rarely-seen but much-loved member of their household.
In the charming snap, posted by Joe, Fig sits proudly beside a pint glass, captioned with the cheeky comment, “…. hammered.” The light-hearted post instantly drew waves of affection from fans, who couldn’t resist commenting on the pooch’s cuteness.
Fans React with Love
Followers quickly filled the comments with praise, calling Fig “so beautiful” and “adorable.” One playful fan joked, “Aw cutie, mum and dad leading you into bad ways,” while Sally herself joined in with a witty remark: “Who’s going to drive us home?”
The couple’s easy humour and down-to-earth connection shone through, showing the same warmth that has made them two of Corrie’s most admired off-screen pairings.
A Love Story Born in Weatherfield
Sally and Joe’s romance began on set in 2018, blossoming quietly behind the scenes before fans caught wind of their relationship. By the following year, they had moved in together, and in 2020, Joe proposed during a lockdown stroll.
After pandemic delays, the pair finally tied the knot in July 2022 at St Philip’s Church in Salford, surrounded by close friends and family. Sally became stepmother to Joe’s three children, and the couple have since settled into a cosy life together in a village near Stockport.
Why They Don’t Like Sharing Screen Time
Despite their loving bond, Sally recently revealed that working with her husband isn’t quite as romantic as it sounds. In an interview with OK! Magazine, she laughed, “I’d be very happy never to have a scene with him ever again. I love Joe to bits, but we’ve got very different work processes.”
She explained that while she likes to come fully prepared, Joe prefers to improvise — often making her laugh uncontrollably on set. “Once I start giggling, that’s it. He absolutely makes me howl, and he does it on purpose!”
Life, Love, and Laughter
Whether they’re sharing scenes or selfies, Sally Carman and Joe Duttine continue to charm fans with their genuine affection and humour. Their latest post is another reminder that behind Coronation Street’s dramatic storylines, real-life love stories like theirs still steal the show.
