Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Sally revealed that despite Abi’s devastating breakup with Kevin, the drama is far from over. In fact, she teased that upcoming episodes will feature a Kevin-related twist that viewers “won’t see coming.”
“I was sad about the split because of the thought of not working with Michael Le Vell [Kevin],” Sally shared. “I love him, I adore him and we work really well together. But I have it on good authority that we’re working together quite a lot still, so I’m alright now.”
Unexpected Future for Abi and Kevin
While the betrayal appeared to spell the end for one of Weatherfield’s most complex couples, Sally’s comments suggest their story is only taking a new direction. “I don’t know in what capacity yet,” she added, “but as long as we’re still working together, I don’t really mind.”
The actress, who has portrayed Abi since 2017, also praised co-star Jonathan Howard (Carl Webster) — the man at the center of Abi’s infidelity — calling him “a dreamboat” and joking that he shares a dressing room with her real-life husband, Joe Duttine (Tim Metcalfe).
