Coronation Street Welcomes Hollyoaks Star for Chilling Todd and Theo Storyline
A familiar face from Hollyoaks is heading to Coronation Street, promising to shake up the cobbles in one of the soap’s darkest plots yet. Actor Andrew Hayden-Smith, known for his roles in Doctor Who, Byker Grove, and as the corrupt detective Gavin Armstrong in Hollyoaks, has joined the ITV series for a tense new storyline involving Todd Grimshaw and Theo Silverton.
Todd and Theo’s Relationship Turns Dangerous
Fans have watched Todd, played by Gareth Pierce, become trapped in a coercively controlling relationship with Theo. What began as minor manipulation has escalated into something far more sinister. Viewers were left stunned when Theo turned violent, pinning Todd against the kitchen sink before force-feeding him.
Despite the disturbing moment, Todd tried to move on, even agreeing to move into a new flat with Theo. But in upcoming episodes, that fragile peace shatters completely.
A Breaking Point
As Theo’s grip tightens, Todd begins to unravel. Worried about some troubling medical results, he confides in George Shuttleworth about his fears and even starts preparing for the worst. When George and Christina Boyd uncover an email from the hospital, they rush to support Todd, unaware that Theo’s jealousy is boiling over.
Meanwhile, a meeting at the Bistro between Gary Windass, Theo, and a newcomer named Pete Lang sets the stage for confrontation. When Theo sees Billy Mayhew and Summer Spellman nearby, he pretends to be a concerned partner while secretly fuming over Todd’s secrecy.
The Arrival of Pete Lang
Enter Andrew Hayden-Smith as Pete, whose appearance adds fuel to Theo’s rage. The following morning, Todd wakes to find Pete in Theo’s flat, sparking accusations and paranoia. Theo lashes out again, twisting Todd’s vulnerability into blame. This time, Todd finally snaps and tells Theo to leave for good.
A Star’s Exciting Reveal
Confirming the news on Instagram, Andrew shared a photo outside the iconic Rovers Return with the caption: “Off to Weatherfield… BRB. Catch me on the cobbles as Pete Lang soon! #Corrie.”
Support poured in from friends and co-stars. Presenter Angellica Bell wrote, “FINALLY… I can start chatting about it!” while Rylan Clark added, “Congrats mate!” Fellow Hollyoaks alum Nadine Mulkerrin cheered, “Corrie just got hotter!”
