Exclusive: Emmerdale stars respond to Lewis and Vinny romance theories after new spoilers
Emmerdale star Bradley Riches has spoken about the possibility of a future romance for his character Lewis Barton and Vinny Dingle. Fans have been speculating about a potential connection between the two characters for some time now – and next week’s spoilers have added fuel to the fire.
Vinny is currently trying to save his marriage to Gabby Thomas after she found out that he’d been having doubts about his sexuality. In upcoming scenes, the couple vow to make things work – and Gabby even suggests counselling to get them back on stable ground.

“It’s very exciting to see that conversation, and how a new friendship might blossom as well.
“It’s nice to see someone who’s not sure about themselves being welcomed by someone who is very sure of themselves.”
Asked whether the connection will remain as a friendship or develop into more, he replied: “Who knows? Only time will tell. I think at the beginning it’s definitely a friendship.
“I mean, every good relationship is based on friendship and that’s a good starting point, definitely!”

Bradley Johnson, who plays Vinny, also spoke to us about his character’s perspective on the situation.
“Vinny’s quite vulnerable. Lewis is a shoulder to cry on for Vinny and he’s been a great support,” he noted. “So those two characters together, I think work really well.
“They’re just both geeky, loveable characters. It’s two unique people helping each other and supporting each other. It’s brilliant.”

Lisa Riley, who plays Vinny’s mum Mandy, chimed in: “It proves you don’t have to be cool, and it’s my favourite thing to watch! I’m like a proud parent! I love the fact that not being cool is actually really cool!”
