Coronation Street has once again upped the drama, with a nail-biting new update in the Becky Swain and DI Costello storyline. In tonight’s episode, the tension reached fever pitch as secrets were exposed, alliances crumbled, and a deadly plan was narrowly avoided.

Lisa Swain continued her unofficial investigation into who attacked her former boss, DI Costello. Early in the episode, she revealed that the prime suspect was a man known only by his street name — “Soap” (also called Daz or Darren). But Becky feigned ignorance, insisting she had no clue who he was.

The Truth Behind Closed Doors

Moments later, viewers saw Becky meet up with Soap in a quiet alleyway. She warned him the police were closing in, and he handed over Costello’s two phones — one personal and one burner.

Becky was furious that he hadn’t turned the burner phone off, fearing it could be traced. Her fears were confirmed as sirens blared nearby, forcing them both to flee the scene.

Back at the station, Kit Green updated a clearly exhausted Lisa. Soap had slipped through their fingers. Kit urged her to rest, unaware of the danger still looming — or how close Becky was to taking deadly action.

Murder Plot Thwarted — Just in Time

As Lisa headed home, Becky was already en route to the hospital. Her mission? Silence Costello before he could wake and speak the truth.

Grabbing a syringe, Becky stood at his bedside ready to strike — but Lisa walked in at the last second. Becky quickly stashed the syringe and played it cool, pretending she was just there to visit an old friend.

Lisa, growing increasingly suspicious, forced Becky to leave. Then came a critical update: Costello had begun to stir but was unable to speak.

Running Scared… Again

Convinced her time was up, Becky packed her bags to run. But luck was on her side once again when Lisa called to reveal that Costello couldn’t talk. Meanwhile, police managed to capture Soap — but he refused to talk, giving the investigators no new leads.

Carla and Kit Plot to Take Becky Down

Elsewhere, Carla Connor teamed up with Kit to step up their plan to expose Becky for good. Carla moved back into the house — a calculated move to spy on Becky from the inside. Lisa, unaware of Carla’s true intentions, agreed to bunk with her daughter Betsy for the time being.

But with Becky still inside the house, and Costello clinging to life in the hospital, one thing is clear:
